Hit By A Deer....REVENGE!

A couple weeks back, I hit a deer while driving my car home late at night. Messed up my car, but not nearly as much as it messed up the deer. I felt terrible.

Day before yesterday, the neighborhood deer pack got me back. I was cruising along the single track on a ridge in Huddart Park with my headphones on when a deer went flying by just 10 feet in front of me. As fast as I could say "WOW! That was close...", the second one clocked me and knocked me on my ass.

Yup. I got run over by a deer.

(The suspects fleeing the scene)
In retrospect, it was my fault (again). The headphones meant I couldn't hear them as they bounded down the hill to get away from Skyline Blvd, the very same road where I had struck the previous deer.

When I picked myself up, I got an odd stare from the deer...a long stare....REVENGE.

Touché, my deer. I had that coming.

(Eye for an eye, hoof for a hoof)
(Watch out for this guy!)

  3. That's a heck of a story, and good thing the damage wasn't too bad. I've been waiting for that hoof to drop for quite a while now, whether it be deer, elk, moose, mountain goat or mountain lion. We simply do not compute to them...

  4. Wow, that is crazy! Ha! I have come close to getting hit by a deer but it has not happened yet. I would sort of like to know the feeling but maybe not :/

  7. Hilarious photo to go with it. I was once running a hash and this happened to another runner. We almost renamed him "Bambi's B*tch" that day.

  8. That doesn't happen very often! They sure are quiet and menacing when they plot their revenge.

  9. I keep visualizing the Queens of the Stone Age video for "No One Knows."

  10. Haha!! This is the best post I've read all day. Thank you for sharing your misfortune with us. When I got out running and hiking the trails in my city, I only listen to music with one earbud in because of the massive amount of wildlife. Deer, moose, turkeys, snakes, etc.... kind of dangerous out there some times. At least you learned a lesson, right?!
